Goal 3: Continuously Improve Performance and Quality

Strategic Actions
Performance Targets

1. Formalize our professional learning community, practices and structures

Percent of classes taught by HQT 97% meet NCLB requirements

Parent satisfaction 100% positive responses

Teacher satisfaction 80% positive responses

2. Create a monthly dashboard of key performance indicators for all school staff

3. Implement a school wide interactive communication system that includes parent and students

4. Provide classroom supports by using Title 1 and Weighted Student Formula money to hire PTTs for each regular ed classroom

Targeted Intervention

Align language arts and math curricula with HCPIII while building grade level student assessments.

Rationale:

Student performance data shows that although student performance in reading is above state benchmark of 44%, student performance in mathematics falls short by 7 percentage points. Language Arts and Mathematics programs that are aligned to the Hawaii Content and Performance Standards are in the initial stages of implementation. Classroom observations and collaboration meetings help to monitor fidelity to the programs. Students are not able to articulate the meaning of the standards/ benchmarks being taught and relate them to learning experiences. The use of pacing maps in not consistent from one class to another within the same grade level.
